The Fuzion Phenomenon

Tonight we tried a bottle of Familia Zuccardi Fuzion Alta Malbec, Tempranillo Riserva 2009 which got a favorable review from Sean Wood at the Chronicle Herald.

Based upon his brief recommendation we gave it a shot and at $11.99 it is a fantastic value.  We were very pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavour.  The wine is definitely Malbec focused for sure but you can certainly pick up the Tempranillo in the wine.  It is a little tannic but again, who can complain when the price is so reasonable.  We didn't take the review to the next level with a score but it was a great dinner wine.

Ever since we heard about the Fuzion invasion a couple of years ago, we have kept it on our radar and have had the Fuzion Red on a couple of occasions.  The quality for the price is the most amazing part of these wines.  We enjoy Argentinean wines as a group and this is no different, but you just can’t beat the price, which is even better in Ontario, and don’t get us started on the US prices.  We will need to try the Fuzion Torrontes – Pinot Grigio white as well.

The fact that such a great tasting wine can be imported and sold retail in Canada is amazing.  Again as a party wine you can't beat it.

Try it, you'll like it.

Keep on drinking!

Cheers,

Chris & Shannon
